The Rev. Donald Ray Way, 56, a native of Port Gibson, Miss., and resident of Prairieville, died at 7:02 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at First Baptist Church of Houma (Northwest Branch in Gray). Religious service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Scott Way of Prairieville; one son, Jacob Way of Prairieville; five daughters, Hannah Way, Abigail Way, Sarah Way, Rachel Way and Rebekah Way of Prairieville; one brother, Howard Way of Winnsboro; and three sisters, Janie W. White, Ruth W. Claybrook of Jackson, Miss., and Paula T. Greco of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Paul Way and Lillie Belle Trim Way; and one daughter, Tabitha Way.
He was a minister at Faith Baptist Church of Prairieville. He received a bachelor of science degree from Mississippi State University, a master of religious education from Covington Theological Seminary in 1980 and a doctorate of philosophy degree in religion from Bethany Theological Seminary in 1991.
He was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Prairieville.
