James "Gabby" Carroll Glover, 84, a native of Coushatta and resident of Houma, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at Mulberry Baptist Church. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at 2 p.m. Sunday in Springville Cemetery in Coushatta. He is survived by his wife, Louise Cox Glover of Houma; four daughters, Rebecca G. Trahan and husband, Jim, of Houma, Brenda Glover Andrich and husband, Richard, of Lafayette, Deborah G. Walker and husband, Glynn, of Houston and Lisa G. Matto and husband, Tony, of Lafayette; one brother, Benford Glover and wife, Clair, of Shreveport; one sister, Gloria Beeason of New Orleans; nine grandchildren, J.J. Trahan and wife, Charlotte, Becky Harding and husband, Aaron, Annie Trahan, Jennifer May and husband, Rick, Matt Walker and wife, Lynn, Blake Walker, Abby Walker, L.J. Matto and Charlie Matto; and three great-grandchildren, John Trahan, Jude Trahan and Jacob Harding. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Glover and Ruby Bates Glover; three brothers, Ashton, Pickette and Raymond Glover; and one sister, Millie Brown. He was a retired salesman with Western Company of N. American and Bilco Tools, a U.S. Air Force veteran during World War II in India and a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Building Fund at Mulberry Baptist Church.
