James "Jimmy" Edwin Savoie, 70, a native of Bayou Blue and resident of Houma, died at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ecuyer Savoie of Houma; one son, Michael Savoie and wife, Heather Savoie, of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Elizabeth Chandler and husband, James Chandler Jr., of Destrehan; three sisters, Elise Savoie of Houma, Estelle Savoie of Dallas and Julie White and husband, Bon White, of Hammond; one grandchild, Allie Chandler; and one sister-in-law, Lucille Savoie of Houma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Savoie and Adrienne Hotard Savoie; and one brother, Ronald "Bud" Savoie.
He was a retired restaurant owner of Savoie’s Louisiana Cooking since 1967 and a U.S. Army veteran during peacetime.
He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
