Wilmer Paul "Lil Bab" Babin, 86, a native and resident of Houma, died at 6:36 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by two daughters, Lorie Young and husband, John Sr., and Linda B. Guidry of Houma; two sisters, Meryl Chauvin of Houma and Vera Guaraggi of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; five grandchildren, Connie Guidry, Wendy G. Adams, Bobby Guidry Jr., John Young Jr. and Ryan Young; four great-grandchildren, Kellie Blanchard, Elaina Adams, Tyler Guidry and Addison Guidry; and one great-great-grandchild, Trey Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Savoie Babin; his parents, Van Babin and Clavia Chaisson Babin; one son-in-law, Robert Guidry Sr.; three brothers, Murphy Earl and Lloyd Babin; and three sisters, Helen Domangue, Jeanette Daughty and Genevieve Webre.
He was a retired welder with more than 30 years with Texaco and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church.
