Kenneth John Hutchinson a native and resident of Houma, LA died Friday, July 15, 2011.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 9:00am until service time at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be held at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 with burial in St. Francis #2

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Phyllis Roemers Hutchinson, his children, Glenn Scott and Candice Hutchinson Phipps, Virginia Hutchinson Crochet, and Kate Marie Hutchinson and Jeremy Passow. His grandchildren, Logan John Phipps, Lesleigh Ann Hutchinson, EmmaLee Marie Phipps, Lee Warren Coulon, IV, Hayden Charles Phipps and Layla Renee Passow.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon John and Virginia Cuga Hutchinson.
His grandparents, Wally Paul and Amelie Gaston Hutchinson and John and Mary Mohanski Cuga.
He is a 1967 graduate of Terrebonne High School where he participated in Track, as a medal winning record holder and many other extra curricular activities. He was also a 1971 Graduate of USL with a BS of Finance degree. He was a member of Delta Sigma Phi.
Ken had a 40 year career in the finance business. He was the managing co-owner of Bayou Finance of Houma for the past 20 years.
He was presently the financial secretary and former Grand Knight of the St. Gregory Knights of Columbus Council 6170. He was also a member of the 4th degree Knights of Fr. McGiveny Assembly. Ken was also a former member and officeholder in the East Houma Lions Club. He is a former member of the Krewes of Hercules and Terranians.
He also was a member of the Sugarland Country Club.
His wife and children would like to thank all of the wonderful people who cared for him through his illness at both Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Terrebonne General Medical Center. They would especially like to thank Dr. Raul Doria and his wonderful nurse Doe for their care and concern for Ken and Phyllis through his 2 year battle with cancer.
Ken was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in Ken’s name.
