Rita Whitney Malbrough, 86, a native and resident of Houma, died at 6:52 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time today at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 2 p.m. today at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Barry Malbrough; two daughters, Pat Rodrigue and husband, Russell, and Julie Trosclair and husband, Cyrus; one daughter-in-law, Ramona Malbrough; two brothers, Willie Whitney of Baton Rouge and Daniel Whitney of Houma; two sisters, Mae Soudelia of Houma and Pearl Gros of Labadieville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira A. Malbrough; her parents, Robert J. Whitney and Alsina Rhodes Whitney; one son, Gerald Malbrough Sr.; and one brother, Sewele Whitney.
She was a retired teacher with Terrebonne Parish School Board and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
