Marie Josephine Babin Ledet

Marie Josephine Babin Ledet, 80, a native and resident of Houma, died at 1:59 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2007. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Maria Immacolata Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Nicholas A. Ledet of Houma; two sons, Dale Ledet and wife, Cindy, of Luling and Mark Ledet and wife, Mary, of Houma; four daughters, Judith Chauvin of Luling, Connie Laster and husband, Bobby, of Destrehan, Mary Fanguy and Donna Ledet of Houma; two brothers, Phillip Babin of Metairie and Milton Babin and wife Pat of Houma; one sister, Marion Babin (Sister Mary Austin) of New Orleans; 10 grandchildren, Nicholas, Joseph, Christopher Chauvin, Lindy Bourgeois and husband Loyd, Jamie Laird and husband Ryan, Erica Sanders and husband, Joshua, Zachary Laster, Phillip Ledet, Emily Fanguy and Adam Ledet; four great-grandchildren, Preston, Ella, Luke and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Edna Chaisson Babin; three brothers, Harry Babin, Nolan Babin and Edward Babin; two sisters, Mildred Hebert and Eva Babin; and two son-in-laws, Danny Chauvin and Steve Fanguy. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church.
