James Homer Arnold Jr., 83, a native of Oak Grove and resident of Pensacola, Fla., died in Pensacola at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to graveside service today at Chauvin Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. today at Grace Christian Cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, James H. Arnold III and wife, Mary J. Arnold, of Houston and Larry D. Arnold and wife, Toni T. Arnold, of Houma; two daughters, Karen L. Cooper and husband, Gary Cooper, of Pensacola and Shelia A. Kufel and husband, Tim Kufel, of Apopka, Fla.; one brother, Luther K. Arnold of Chicota, Texas; one sister, Mary A. Mariche of Oak Grove; six grandchildren, James H. Arnold IV, Michele A. Garland, Landon D. Arnold, Ryan L. Arnold, Tracy L. Sellers and Christina H. Kufel; and 10 great-grandchildren, Matthew L. Garland, Thomas M. Garland, Sarah M. Garland, Austin B. Arnold, Jessica L. Arnold, Haleigh R. Chauvin, Logan A. Arnold, Chloe E. Arnold, Samantha M. Sellers and Andrew G. Sellers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudie B. Sims Arnold; his parents, James H. Arnold Sr. and Sudie Yates Arnold; one brother, Hiram A. Arnold; and one grandson, U.S. Marine Corps CWO2 Andrew Todd Arnold.
He was a retired supervisor for Patterson Truck Lines and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
